We at Weave Reality have now taken a big step into the Nordic region. We are incredibly proud to announce that Hovedstadens Beredskab (Copenhagen Fire Department) is not only joining us as our first Danish customer but also as a central innovation partner in the development of Weave Maps.
With Copenhagen on board, our ongoing innovation project is being transformed from a purely Norwegian collaboration into a Nordic one. Previously, the project consisted of the innovative environments in Trøndelag fire and rescue service IKS, Rogaland Fire and Rescue IKS, and Sandefjord Fire and Rescue.
A shared vision for the future of situational awareness
The goal of the collaboration is ambitious: We will create the preferred tool for the fire and rescue service for training, mission briefing, and real-time monitoring – both in the Nordic region and internationally.
By combining manipulable 3D maps with AI elements, we make it possible for crews to train in digital twins of actual buildings and urban areas. This means that discussion and training based on the exact environments that the crews encounter in their operational everyday life will be significantly easier to achieve.
"The collaboration makes it possible to use Virtual Reality in the training of our operational crew – not only through fictional scenarios, but now also with the opportunity to train in digital versions of real buildings,"
States Simon Kjærgaard, Area Manager at Hovedstadens Beredskab, in a comment on the collaboration.
Fast decision and a strong desire to use new technology
There is often a perception that large, public organizations are heavy and bureaucratic. The collaboration with Copenhagen, however, has shown the opposite. After a thorough product evaluation, the process can be characterized by speed, decisiveness, and a genuine desire not only to adopt new technology but also to actively contribute to its development.
The dialogue and testing carried out with in particular Deputy Emergency Preparedness Inspector Jakob Habeck and Emergency Preparedness Inspector Rune Lind have already given us at Weave new perspectives that will be crucial for the continued development of the software.
Flexible learning - regardless of platform
One of the strengths of the project is accessibility. The Weave Maps platform is designed to work seamlessly whether you use VR glasses, PC, or mobile phone. This ensures that learning and tactical reflection can take place exactly when and where it provides the most value for the individual firefighter or incident commander.
We now look forward to continued collaboration with our partners in Copenhagen, Trøndelag, Rogaland, and Sandefjord. Together, we hope to set the standard for the future of emergency preparedness training and situational awareness.
