When developing Weave Maps, one of our goals is to make the application as accessible as possible. We know that the best discussions arise when everyone can participate - regardless of whether they have a VR headset within arms reach or not.

Therefore, we have now removed this barrier: Weave Maps now supports web, Windows, Android, iOS, and Mac.

Increased Flexibility

By opening up to all the major platforms, we are transforming Weave Maps from a specialized VR experience into a more versatile tool for situational awareness and discussion exercises. You can now log in and participate in a scenario whether you are sitting in front of your PC at the office or just using your smartphone.

This solves several practical challenges:

• Easier Remote Collaboration: Participants can connect to the same exercise from different fire stations or office locations without the need for logistics around VR equipment.

• Low Barrier to Entry: Experts or decision-makers who might not be accustomed to VR technology can now contribute to discussions via familiar tools.

• Always Available: Planning meetings and briefings can be conducted more spontaneously, as access is now more low-threshold.

A wish from our users

This update is a direct result of feedback from our users. All the fire departments we collaborate with have been unanimous that: VR is superb for immersion, but sometimes it's more practical to just grab the PC. We have now incorporated this into our continued development and will build further to ensure the most functionality across all platforms.
